The X Factor
Music competition show, The X Factor returns for the start of its second season on Fox at 8:00.
Wheeler Dealers
Velocity has the ninth season premiere of Wheeler Dealers at 9:00. Watch as enthusiast vehicles are repaired/improved and sold to a new owner.
Hawaii Air Rescue
Hawaii Air Rescue has its series premiere on The Weather Channel at 9:00. This series follows the crew of Hawaii Life Flight, the air ambulatory service for the Hawaiian Islands.
The Last Waltz
Palladia has what is certainly one of the best concert films, The Last Waltz, the 1976 film directed by Martin Scorsese and documenting the final concert of The Band (that’s the name of the group) and featuring performances by Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Dr. John, Muddy Waters and others, at 9:00.
Cajun Pawn Stars
Cajun Pawn Stars has its second season Fall premiere at 9:30 on the History Channel. Join the fun at the Silver Dollar Pawn & Jewelry Center in Alexandria, Louisiana where an eclectic array of historical merchandise is on display, with items ranging from vintage cars to firearms to livestock.
American Restoration
And the Fall premiere’s just keep on coming. At 10:00 the History Channel has American Restoration in which Rick Dale and his crew at Rick’s Restorations in Las Vegas, Nevada, take rusty, beat-up items and restore them to their original glory.
Family Guns
The National Geographic Channel has the series premiere of Family Guns at 10:00. No, it’s not about a paranoid reactionary family. Rather, the show features father-son duo Christian and Alex Cranmer and their family business, International Military Antiques, an antique gun supplier.
Guys with Kids
NBC has the series premiere of Guys with Kids at 10:00. This is a comedy about three 30-something dads who try to hold on to their youth as they face the responsibilities of having kids. The critics are not impressed, the reviews are here.
Parol Diaries
Parole Diaries has its series premiere on TV One at 10:00. The show follows six parole officers and some of their most challenging clients.
Inside NASCAR
And, for you racing fans, Showtime has the new season of Inside NASCAR at 10:00
Mama Drama
Mama Drama, in which mothers and daughters learn how to live together, has its season finale on VH1 at 11:00.
Great Performances at the Met – Die Walkure
Wagner week continues on certain PBS stations with Great Performances at the Met – Die Walkure, the second opera in Wagner’s ring cycle. This is the one that has “Ride of the Valkyries,” made famous in Apocalypse Now (not to say that it wasn’t famous before that).
