HiTV.Transparent.Background.Small .001 Review – Snooki & JWOWWRating: 3.  The MTV “Jersey Shore” spinoff, “Snooki & JWOWW”  follows the oddball couple as they move into an apartment and go through “various staged encounters.”  It doesn’t have quite the same fist pumping appeal as Jersey Shore, but the pair are relatively entertaining.

Variety noted that “audiences have clearly demonstrated their fondness for the ‘Jersey’ bunch,” and said, “Distilled into a half-hour, there’s just enough to keep the show from overstaying its weekly welcome.”  They also said the show is “Like a latter-day Lucy and Ethel if they got pregnant out of wedlock, talked about their periods and dropped F-bombs with abandon.”

Newsday gave the show a “D,” and called it “dumb and dumber.” “Bottom line,” they wrote, “”Snooki & JWoww” reeks of the end-times — the end-times for “Jersey Shore.” We’ve all been there / done this, and once is plenty.”

Regarding Snooki’s recent pregnancy, the Dallas Star-Telegram writes, “even though they’ve had to tone down the antics, it’s still an entertaining show in a loopy, somewhat aimless way.”

The Chicago Sun-Times thought the “‘Shore’ shitick––like the cast––is getting old,” and said, ““Snooki & JWoww” is further evidence that this gym-tan-laundry cult is more entertaining as a band than as a bunch of solo artists.”

Also, regarding the fallout of Snooki’s pregnancy bomb, the Sacramento Bee, noted that the show is forced to “try to build drama,” How much of this you can take depends on how much you care about the people – or, more precisely, about the people as shaped for your viewing.”

Speaking of the show, The Boston Herald says, “the party’s over.”
